About Me: My name is Troy. I'm a 46 year old from the good old "Dirty Bay" Texas...that would be Baytown to those of you not in the know. I've been bowling for over 30 years now and carry a 215 "House" average, a 206 "State" average over the last 15 years and a 199 "Nationals" average over the last 15 years. I only bowl in one league now, an all men's league at Max Bowl East. I do not practice and I do not bowl in handicap tournaments (guess you could say I can't stand sandbaggers). I have been going to Nationals and State with the same group of guys now for 15 years straight. We love to use these trips as vacations and also as "excuses" to play on golf courses from around the state and nation. Want to know anything else about me...just ask!

    USBC Open Event, Albuquerque, NM

Thursday, March 27, 2008, 10:46 AM CST [General]

The USBC Nationals came and went for me this past weekend just like any other Nationals event...I was once again consistantly inconsistent. Had a pretty decent shot for all 3 sets, of course the shot was tight and ball speed was critical, I just found myself getting lazy with the ball, especially on my spares. I missed way too many single pin spares...dagnabbit 2 pin! Shot 572 in team event, 594 in doubles, and 567 in singles. Nothing to write home about but still not too shabby. I was only 7 sticks off of my "Nationals" average of 199. Bad thing about it is that I thought my shot was better this year than anything from previous years. Goes to show you...Strike for show, Spare for dough!

Enjoyed ourselves while in Albuquerque. Played a couple of very nice golf courses and also took the Tram up to Sandia Peak. I highly recommend taking that trip.

    Men's Independent... March 13th

Saturday, March 15, 2008, 01:35 PM CST [General]

Not a bad night bowling on my part, but my team struggled pretty much. We were on the toughest pair in the house, Lanes 11-12. Believe it or not, that was the pair I shot my 1st 300 game on years back. I'm having to play 14 to 5 on the left lane and 5 to 2 on the right lane. Each lane had some spotty oil from between 35 and 45 feet down. That's what really made it tough. You just had to make sure you didn't through it through the break point through those spots, otherwise it was washout city. Shot 197-225-207 for a decent 629. Only hit my average of 215 one game, but I was second high on the pair (all 10 bowlers carried 205-221 averages). We won 1 and lost 3 after building a 106 pin lead after the 1st game. Lost games 2, 3 and totals in team sputtering fashion.

Next Thursday is the last night before I leave for Nationals in Albuquerque Friday. Looking forward to my second visit there. Had good success there last time and am pumped about shooting good this time.
